Summertime is here

Summer is here and I should be on vacation.  If you're like me right now and can't get away for a long trip, it's time to consider alternatives.  A short road trip or camping in the mountains can be a simple escape.  And there's a lot going on in town such as the Utah Arts Festival, the Farmer's Market, the Twilight Concert Series.

Summer is like Winter in the sense that we all seem to have permission to slow down and relax.  It's too hot or cold to really push too hard.
We save that for Fall and Spring.   Nature has a way of telling us when to do what.  This is great if we tune in and listen.  Spring is for starting something, Summer is for letting that something grow, Fall is for gathering the results, and Winter is to reset and start over.  That's my short version anyway.

We get attached to seasons.  We all tend to have a favorite that we grieve the loss of.  I don't know too many people who are sad when Winter is over though.  I try to embrace the season I'm in.  It's not easy when I'm scraping the ice off my car in 6 degree weather.   I think I'll enjoy my hot summer while it's here.

"In like a lion out like a lamb"....sounds like manic depression to me! Well, one thing's for sure, March brings the winds of change and we have to hold on tight. As much as many of us are ready for Spring to be here, change is still change....and we are creatures of habit. So it's natural to feel a little edgy as we make this transition. Not to mention, we just lost an hour last weekend...just like that. Amazing how relative time is........how important we make it that we construct our days, weeks, and entire lives around the ticking of the clock...when our true essence is timeless. Remember to take time to be present and experience your timeless essence.
