We can all use a little help sometimes no matter who you are. I use a strengths-based coaching approach when working with people. While I don't offer psychotherapy, I provide coaching and consultation to individuals and families who are looking for objective feedback. Sometimes, more answers are needed. In these cases, I conduct psychological testing with Paul Stratton, PhD to determine functioning in areas of learning, memory, attention, and cognitive functioning.
Early in my career, I worked as a physical therapy assistant at various hospitals in New York, Vermont and Utah. While working with people physically, I learned how much the mind and body work together to heal. I decided to pursue psychology because of the importance of the mind in overall good health and well being.
While pursuing my Ph.D., I had the privilege of working with numerous psychologists and conducting research in diverse areas including: NICHD, the National Institute of Child Development with Dr. Michael Lamb (Maryland); University of Maryland with Dr. Nathan Fox; Mind, Body Center in Boston with Dr. Herbert Benson; Child Development Lab at Harvard with Dr. Jerome Kagan; and Department of Education at Harvard with Dr. Susan Holloway. I enjoy offering consultation to colleagues working with children.
I received my Bachelors in Psychology at the University of Utah, my Masters in Education at the University of Maryland, my Ph.D. at the University of Maryland, followed by pursing extensive research in Child Development at Harvard. I'm currently a student in the Graduate School of Social Work at the University of Utah.
I am married and the mother of two teenage daughters. In addition, we live with three Labradors and two cats. I enjoy travel, swimming, biking, skiing, learning, cultural and diversity activities, and hanging out with my pets.
